There are not too many perks to list when it comes to concrete, especially in comparison to paving. It is hot, expensive, breaks down easily, and requires a lot of maintenance. Not to mention the fact that it does not look that attractive and you have limited options as far as design and color. The only real perk to choosing concrete over paving would be that there are more companies that provide this option, but most of the time they are as unreliable as the concrete base they are supplying.

The Perks of Pool Paving

When it comes to aesthetics, pool paving is the obvious winner. There are tons of designs, shapes, sizes, and colors available, so you are limited only by your imagination. If you decide that you want a turquoise zigzag at the bottom of your pool with dark green stars floating around it, paving can definitely provide you with that option. It is easier on the feet since it does not heat up as much as concrete. It also provides an excellent grip, so if you have small children that love running poolside, you will not have to worry about nasty injuries. The material is coated with a sealant to prevent cracking and algae/bacteria buildup, so it is quite a bit more sanitary and durable than concrete.
